The girl continues to recover from a brain injury

The family of a Windsor teenager is suing the City of Windsor after a freak and near-fatal accident last spring.

Madison Arsenault and her gym class were on an outing to the Ford Test Track when she tripped on a string between two sawed-off golf clubs and was impaled in the head.

The resulting brain injury has left her in a wheelchair as she struggles on a daily basis to improve.

Madison told CTV Windsor, she now sleeps in the living room because she can't get up the stairs to her own bed. "It would be a lot easier if I had my own room if things were widened and more accessible."

She also has impaired vision, suffers severe headaches and is limited to just two hours of school a day.

The lawsuit seeks compensation for her pain and suffering as well as lost hearing because of her injury.
