Provincial police say charges are pending as they continue to investigate the first fatal crash on the Herb Gray Pkwy.
The victim, identified as 19-year-old Nicole Vetor of Windsor, was in an Oldsmobile Sport Utility Vehicle that had stopped in traffic. Police say a transport truck slammed into the back of the SUV and two other transport trucks were struck as a result.
The westbound lanes of the road heading toward the Ambassador Bridge were closed for several hours following the 4pm crash.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of one transport truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
