If you live in Tecumseh, don't be alarmed if your tap water is brown.
Between now and June 22nd, the town is releasing water from fire hydrants to test them and make sure adequate flow and pressure is available.
The flushing is also done to remove sediment from the pipes in order to maintain water clarity and quality in the distribution system.
The town says the water is safe to drink. If you have brown or discoloured water, run your cold water tap for a few minutes until the water clears. If it doesn't clear the first time, wait a few minutes and run the water again.
