Tecumseh's Chief Administrative Officer has announced his retirement.
Tony Haddad informed the town about his decision recently.
However, Haddad has agreed to stay on until the end of September 2018 to ensure a smooth transition and provide assistance with the search for his replacement.
Mayor Gary McNamara has worked with Haddad for ten years and says he respects his decision.
"I was hoping he would stay on until we both decided to go but obviously for him, it's been close to 40 years in the business and he feels it's time to move on to a different chapter and I totally respect that," says McNamara.
Prior to his time with Tecumseh, Haddad held various positions in the York Region, Oakville and the City of Windsor.
He was also General Manager of Transit Windsor.
The town hopes to name Haddad's successor in the spring of 2018.
