A pizza parlour in Tecumseh got a call up to the big leagues Friday.
Travis Dorner and his family have owned and operated the Armando's location on Tecumseh Road near Manning for more than 16-years.
The 20 year old says a regular customer stopped by Thursday on behalf of her daughter Melanie Daniels, who now works for Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays.
"Now she lives in Toronto and she's part of the administrative staff for the Blue Jays. She was raving about it and was able to hook it up with her mother who still lives here in town," he says.
Dorner tells AM800 News he packed his car up and hit the road around 5:30am Friday to show the Jays staff what pizza is all about in Windsor-Essex.
After a tour of the Rogers Centre, he made six pies for around 30 people in the Blue Jay's front office.
"I cooked them with a bunch of the kitchen staff, which was really cool, I got to make them fresh and hot for everybody," says Dorner. "I also brought some shirts and stuff and gave those out."
Dorner is fairly certain he'll have some repeat customers the next time Toronto visits Detroit to play the Tigers.
"Everybody was saying when they come down to Windsor they're going to stop in," says Dorner. "Hopefully we got a couple extra customers at least."
It's not the first time Dorner has gone the extra mile for a customer.
He hand delivered a pizza to the oldest judge in Michigan on his 95th birthday earlier this year.
