A nice little thank you from the OPP in Tecumseh during a RIDE spot check on Thursday.
Officers conducted a check point on Tecumseh Rd looking for drinking drivers.
They also handed out Tim Horton gift cards to a few of those drivers who had not been drinking and who were in compliance with the Highway Traffic Act, including wearing their seatbelt.
The Positive Ticketing Program happens across Canada in communities like Richmond, Kelowna, Grand Prairie and Toronto.
Positive Tickets are used as a tool for police to create relationships with youth, community members and local businesses.
The gift cards were made possible through donations raised annually by OPP members to give Christmas gifts for 4 families in need in the Town of Tecumseh.
The OPP has also just purchased 30 sleeping bags to be donated to the Street Help in Windsor.
