Tecumseh is putting out the call to developers.
Town council has asked administration for a report on the impacts of waving permit fees on any future commercial developments with a goal of sparking new builds.
Mayor Gary McNamara says Tecumseh hasn't seen a new major commercial development in nearly 15 years, including new hotels.
"One of the areas that we feel that maybe we need to give a little bit of an incentive is on the commercial development side," he says.
"Residential has been very solid, but we certainly want to see more commercial development in the community and I think this is an opportunity to send a message out to the land owners, developers that we're definitely, over the next year, going to be open for business."
