A Tecumseh councillor would like to hear from residents before voting on a pricey trail expansion.
Andrew Dowie says he wants to see if residents are in favour of a 2.4 km trail extension on Riverside Dr. between Ganatchio and Lakewood Park.
He says the issue comes before council tomorrow night and councillors will be asked to include the project in the budget for the next five years.
Dowie says it's a new project for this term of council.
"Since 2014 it has not come up at council however I assure you a lot of residents have been asking for this and especially the residents living nearby in the neighbourhood who go for walks every day," says Dowie.
Dowie says he's in favour of putting the project on the books at sometime but is unsure if it's a top priority for the municipality. That's why he would like to hear from residents.
The price tag for the trial is $775,000.
