Most of us know her as 'Rosie The Clown' but her real name is Rose Rennie and, for the past 35 years, she has donned her clown suit for special events throughout the community.
Rose, who calls Tecumseh home, has been recognized for her years of service with the 'June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntarism.'
It's important, she says, to give back to the community.
"Something as easy as giving blood, bringing a hot meal to somebody and putting a smile on somebody's face or helping them with their yard work, it all goes back to community," says Rennie.
Rose says her clown career started at the very first Terry Fox Run in Tecumseh. Since then, she's volunteered for Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, the Canadian Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels and several other organizations.
