Connecting Windsor-Essex wants to see more women working in the tech industry — and Technovation 2018 is how they're going to reach that goal.
The program, which is open to girls aged 10-18 for both the public and catholic school boards, encourages young ladies in computer science and entrepreneurship by helping them create mobile applications.
Prominent women in tech from throughout Windsor-Essex are there to guide them through the 12-week-program that kicked of Friday.
Mentor Blandine Lesage tells AM800 News, showing girls what they can make a huge difference in their future development.
"Girls are under represented and a program like this one raises awareness to the girls that they're capable of creating apps," she says. "It gives them the power to feel comfortable working in those industries," says Blandine.
