Residents in Kingsville will see a slight increase on their 2020 tax bill.
Council has approved a 1.4% tax hike — down from the 1.9% proposed in 2020 draft budget.
The increase amounts to an additional $25 on a home valued at $250,000.
Mayor Nelson Santos says the town is spending $5-million on several major capital projects in the coming year.
Some of the work includes the reconstruction of Jasperson Dr. and Main St. W. and the installation of floating docks at the Cedar Island Boat Launch.
Council deliberated for two days in January before finalizing the 2020 budget.
Last year, residents saw a 1.9% tax increase.
