Talks resume on Wednesday in hopes of ending the 13 day strike at Caesars Windsor.
The 2,300 workers walked off the job on April 6th after rejecting a proposed three year tentative deal by 59%.
The deal had included a 9.5% wage increase over the life of the agreement, a $1,150 signing bonus for full-time workers, a 1% increase in pension contributions and improved job security for restaurant workers.
The union was recommending acceptance of the deal.
Unifor Local 444 President James Stewart says he's optimistic a new tentative deal can be reached.
"We could have been bargaining a couple of days after the original ratification votes were turned down unfortunately that didn't happen so I'm cautiously optimistic," says Stewart. "We have a date, the casino wouldn't be meeting with us if they didn't intend to listen to what we had to say and what we had to put forward so that's a good sign."
As a result of the labour dispute, Caesars Windsor has cancelled all of its April shows and concerts and all hotel reservations for the month.
