Talks to end a strike by General Motors workers across the U.S. have taken a "turn for the worse."
The United Auto Workers union says that while there was progress on negotiations, talks are breaking down.
The union claims GM has shown an "unwillingness to fairly compensate" its workers.
UAW Vice-President Terry Dittes says their latest offer addressed issues of wages, signing bonuses, job security, profit sharing, pensions, and more.
He says the response Sunday morning from GM did not address what the UAW proposed, and reverted "back to their last rejected proposal and made little change."
Nearly 50,000 workers hit the picket lines on September 16th.
They are demanding higher wages, affordable healthcare and a fair share of profits.
