An overwhelming response at St. Clair College for a swabbing clinic to build the bone marrow registry.
It was held to support 5-month-old Madalayna Ducharme, who suffers from a rare genetic disorder.
Joanne Bedard of the Katelyn Bedard Foundation says they added 560 names to the registry from people who attended.
She says their group has resources for this kind of event with a big base of volunteers.
She says St. Clair has always been a big help: "we've had tremendous support from the college and students, we usually have somebody go and talk to the student representative council and they get all kinds of volunteers out for us in the college"
Bedard says the Windsor community is wonderful and always wanting to help.
Another clinic to get more names on the registry takes place at the Canadian Blood Services office on Grand Marais Road East tomorrow from 10 AM to 2 PM
