A possible labour disruption at the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is having an impact on high school suspensions for not having complete immunization records.
About 1,200 students born in 2001 and 2002 have incomplete records and they received suspension notices in early February.
But due to a possible strike or lockout by nurses at the health unit, the suspension date of March 29 has been cancelled and students will not be suspended.
Although suspension is no longer a possibility, the health unit encourages students to make sure their immunization records are up-to-date.
The nurses, members of the Ontario Nurses Association, will vote on the employers final offer this Thursday, March 7th.
As of midnight on Friday, March 8th nurses could be locked out or will be on strike.
