Windsor Police have identified a suspect stole $7,000 worth of designer sunglasses.
On July 27th at Pazur Eyecare on Tecumseh Rd East, a woman walked in and took 20 pairs of high-end designer sunglasses that included Oakley, Prada, Tiffany and Versace.
She then returned to the store on August 2 and tried to steal four more sunglasses, but was stopped when staff recognized her.
Windsor Police Co-ordinator with Crime Stoppers Constable Kristina Gilboe says incidents like this have a huge impact on the business.
"The store is often forced to increase the price of their merchandise in order to make up the cost of the stolen goods or items, in this case the sunglasses, There is reduced profit so shoplifting severely affects profit margins," she says.
Constable Gilboe says in this case, the store had excellent surveillance video which helped to identify the suspect.
