A quick police response has led to the arrest of a 44-year-old suspect.
Windsor police say officers were called to the 1500 block of Marentette Avenue early Monday morning after a homeowner saw someone enter a vehicle and rummage through the centre console.
Officers arrived within one minute and located the suspect running into a nearby alley.
Police say a foot pursuit occurred and officers arrested the individual shortly after.
After a search of the suspect, officers located a SIN card and a pair of prescription eyeglasses that were reported stolen after a separate incident in September 2025.
The suspect is charged with attempted theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
