How do you think drivers in Windsor rank against others in Ontario cities?
According to a new study, Windsor drivers are among the best in the province.
The study was done by InsuranceHotline.com, using data from driver reported tickets and collisions.
Windsor drivers received a 'B' grade overall.
According to the study, nine per cent of local drivers are collision prone and seven per cent get tickets.
Speaking on AM800's the Lynn Martin Show, Insurance Expert with InsuranceHotline.com Anne Marie Thomas says tickets and crashes make a huge difference in insurance rates.
"Your personal driving history matters so insurance, the last six quarters, the results from the Financial Services Commission show that rates are just going up and up and up," says Thomas.
Thomas adds the study was a good comparison between cities.
"What we did is we pulled the data, not the people's names or anything, we just pulled the data from the tickets and accidents and postal codes and we pulled them together just to see how does it look across the province."
According to the study, nine per cent of local drivers are collision prone and seven per cent get tickets.
The study says nearly four per cent of drivers in the Windsor area are considered collision prone and also get ticketed regularly.
The top spot for overall worst drivers belongs to residents of Orangeville, which received a 'D' grade.
The best driver's, on average, reside in North York.
Toronto drivers also managed to earn an 'A' grade.
The survey also found that drivers in smaller communities did worse, compared to drivers in big cities in Ontario.
