The Fina World Swimming Championships is not just about swimming, it's also a learning opportunity for students.
The Feel the Heats Program will see 4,000 Grade 6 students from the four local school boards provided with free tickets to the morning Heats session December 6th-9th.
In exchange, participating classes will get lesson plans and activity kits geared to their curriculum.
Fina Community Outreach Co-ordinator Tiffani Gill-Carew says students will do research projects on the 176 countries taking part and create promotional pieces.
"Information about swimming and they also have the option to have a presentation done by a fina representative of our committee," she says.
90 Grade 12 students will also get a behind the scenes look at the championships to help them in their future career choices.
"It is not just being an athlete or a coach, there is broadcasting, marketing, sales, there are many different aspects to the sports world and they will see that here."
Windsor will welcome up to 1,000 of the world's best swimmers December 6-11th.
It will be held in the main bowl of the WFCU Centre which is currently being transformed to house the 25m pool.
