3,589 students in Windsor-Essex with incomplete immunization records have received their formal suspension notices this week.
The notice informed students which vaccines were missing and that students can be suspended beginning February 28th if their records are not up-to-date.
The suspensions would apply to Grade 11 and 12 students.
It's part of the Immunization of School Pupils Act.
Students have four ways to update their immunization records by either calling the Healthy Schools Department at 519-258-2146 ext 1222, faxing the immunization record to the health unit at 519-258-7288, submitting the information online or bringing the updated immunization record to the health unit.
Students can be suspended for up to 20 days.
