Thursday night was record setting in Windsor.
"The previous record was 11.9°C set in 2017 so now the new record is 12.6°C in 2019," says Environment Canada Meteorologist, David Rodgers.
As quickly as it warmed up, the temperature dropped back down below zero and the story for Friday, is the wind.
"We're forecasting winds of 50 gusting to 80km/h and that's going to continue through the morning and by early afternoon the wind should start to weaken, by late afternoon we're forecasting it at 40 gusting to 60 km/h." says Rodgers.
He says once the winds die down, the weekend will be pretty seasonal with highs near -4 for Saturday and -3 on Sunday but he says we can't put the shovels away just yet.
"It looks like we've got some winter weather on tap for this week. We're forecasting a high of +1 for Windsor for Tuesday and there could be some snow and perhaps even some rain on Tuesday so, we're not out of the woods yet."
A special weather statement from Environment Canada ended at 8:30 Friday morning.
