The shores of Lake Erie from Leamington, Wheatley Harbor, the tip of Point Pelee as well as the north and easterly shoreline of Pelee Island could see some near shore erosion.
According to the Essex Region Conservation Authority, easterly winds could hit 20 to 30km/h with gust of up to 40km/h. Those conditions should end overnight and shift to the north-northeast.
Water levels are below flood watch thresholds, but ERCA warns there is still a chance shore erosion could take place with waves overlapping break walls.
Residents should be careful around shoreline areas and keep a close eye on children and pets, even around standing water near break walls and shorelines.
