The Essex Region Conservation Authority is advising people to stay away from the shoreline of the area.
They've issued a Watershed Conditions Statement because of strong northwest winds through the overnight.
The forecast indicates sustained winds up to 40 km/h with gusts to 60 km/h.
Large waves are expected to impact the shoreline of Lake St. Clair in Windsor, Tecumseh, and Lakeshore, as well as the north and west coasts of Pelee Island.
There is the possibility for near-shore erosion with wave overtopping and spray, but conditions are currently below “Flood Watch” thresholds.
