Infrastructure, traffic and crime highlighted some issues at Kieran McKenzie's ward meeting.
The ward nine councillor met with his constituents for the first time on Tuesday since being elected last fall.
He started off with a brief PowerPoint presentation then broke off so resident could ask administration questions and finished off the meeting with residents asking him questions.
"We're not going to fix everything all at once but there are some great things that are happening in the ward right now," says McKenzie. "As the mayor talked about the airport and investments at the mall, improvements to our public transit system but it's just a great opportunity for us to have those discussions about the good, the bad and the ugly about what's happening in our ward.".
He says residents are worried about crime in the ward.
"It's not something many people think about it out here in south Windsor but crime is becoming an increasingly important issue for us to be able to deal with and mitigate," says McKenzie. "Property crime in particular is something that's happening on an increasing level in the ward and it's an issue that the residents are continuing to raise."
The meeting was held at Roseland Trinity United Church on Howard Ave.
Ward 6 city councillor Jo-Anne Gignac will hold her ward meeting on Thursday at the WFCU Centre.
