More than 100 expressions of interest were submitted to the town of Lakeshore from homeowners looking to take part in a Sanitary Backwater Valve Subsidy.
Back in February, the town put the call out and wanted to hear from homeowners to see if there was an interest in the program.
Director of Engineering and Infrastructure, Nelson Cavacas says 102 applications were received by the deadline, which was June 30th.
The program provides funding to the homeowner for installing a backwater valve within the home to a maximum of $750.
Submitting the expression of interest does not guarantee the applicant will receive the subsidy. Eligibility will be confirmed at a later date as well as the funding available for the program.
Cavacas says a report will be going before town council July 11th highlighting the response and program.
Similar programs are available in Windsor and Tecumseh.
Back in September, a couple thousand homes were flooded in east Windsor, Tecumseh and Lakeshore following a record rainfall.
