Down to the wire now as we're hours away from potential strike action at Transit Windsor.
The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 616 has confirmed to AM800 News that both sides will be at the bargaining table Sunday to try reach a tentative deal before the strike deadline of 12:01 a.m. Monday.
The latest round of talks resumed Wednesday but ATU International Vice President Manny Sforza described those talks as 'extremely slow' and 'challenging' even with a federal mediator and the Director General of Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services of Canada assisting both parties.
One of they key sticking points remains the 10 paid sick days that are federally mandated for transit workers.
The union represents about 300 members, including drivers and mechanics.
