Striking Caesars Windsor workers remain upbeat on the picket lines.
2,300 workers hit the picket line April 6th after voting 59% against a tentative three-year deal.
Strike captain Jane Wilkinson says the morale continues to be positive but the workers do want to get back to work. "The mood is very good out here, everyone seems positive and supportive of one another. We seem to be getting a lot of support from the community and from the vendors that are near here so it's been a very supportive atmosphere."
Wilkinson says customers have come down to the picket lines to support the members. "We've had other unions come and show their support, walk the picket line with us, so we do feel a lot of support from the community."
On Tuesday, Unifor Local 444 made a formal request to Caesars Windsor to return back to the bargaining table to end the labour dispute.
Unifor Local 444 hopes to know within 24-hours whether or not they will be heading back to the bargaining table any time soon.
In a statement, officials say Caesars Windsor is respecting the process and will not comment on the current labour disruption or on negotiations.
