Plans are in the works to improve the look of the Street Help Homeless Centre on Wyandotte St. E.
Administrator Christine Wilson Furlonger says paint for the outside of the building has already been donated.
She says, perhaps, a revival of the facade would help change the way people think about the homeless.
"If we're feeding people, they have no need to break into cars and houses or steal from supermarkets. People have to think about it the right way, and we'd love to see our building refurbished on the outside and eventually more work on the inside upstairs."
Wilson Furlonger says there is one major improvement that would change the the entire look of the building.
"When I can get someone to help me put the windows back, wouldn't that be beautiful? And it would make the building as stately as it once did. Without the windows, it looks poor."

She says a lot of the people who use the centre are glad to help out with the rejuvenation.
"They're the ones that pick up all the garbage around the area and keep it clean." she says. "They're even weeding the areas and trying to make it really presentable as much as they can with the tools that they have."
Wilson Furlonger hopes some facade changes will create more positive dialogue between her centre and area businesses and residents.
Vice Chair of the Wyandotte Town Centre BIA, Larry Horwitz, says he plans to bring the plans to the board in hopes of monetary support.
