A couple of big moves were made just before the NHL trade deadline.
The Predators and Flyers pulled off a buzzer beater.
Philadelphia is sending forward Wayne Simmonds to Nashville for Ryan Hartman and a fourth round draft pick in 2020.
Meantime, with about 10-minutes to go before the 3pm deadline, Ottawa and Vegas put the finishing touches on a Mark Stone trade.
Stone is now a Golden Knight while Ottawa gets Erik Brannstrom, Oscar Lindberg, and a second round pick in 2020 in return.
Stone will be in Vegas long-term — moments after the trade he signed an 8-year deal worth $76-million.
Earlier in the day, the Winnipeg Jets acquired centre Kevin Hayes from the New York Rangers for Brendan Lemieux, a first-round pick in the 2019 NHL draft and a conditional selection.
