The PJHL's Stobbs Division final opened Tuesday night with the top-seeded 73's at home in Essex hosting the second ranked Lakeshore Canadiens.
The 73's have yet to lose a playoff game, sweeping Petrolia in round one, and eliminating Amherstburg in four straight in round two.
The Canadiens have had a little tougher time, beating Wheatley in four, but needing six games to knock out the Dresden Kings.
Essex head coach Gil Langlois tells AM800 Sports Lakeshore has a solid club.
"There's not a lot of holes in their game, it will come down to likely who can get the best goaltending and who is going to execute the game plan better," he says. Both teams, player for player are pretty even."
Game two will take place Friday night at the Atlas Tube Centre.
