WINDSOR — The Canadian Blood Services is putting out a call to give the gift of life.
Territory Manager for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent Marisa Gatfield points out it is safe to donate during the COVID-19 outbreak.
She says people who have traveled to the U.S recently, should wait 14 days to donate.
"We need to ensure that we can continue to meet the needs of Canadian patients and we need everyone who is eligible and healthy to continue to book and honour their appointments to donate blood," she says.
Donations have dropped 20 per cent since last week and blood supply could become critical in the coming days.
