The "Steam to Steam" sterilization system has arrived at Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouellette Campus.
The delivery was made early Wednesday and is expected to be installed and operational within two weeks.
Hospital President and CEO, David Musyj says there are two machines so that if one needs maintenance, there is a back up.
The new equipment will solve the surgical equipment sterilization issue.
Some elective surgeries were cancelled in August after scorching or staining was found on the cloths that wrap surgical equipment.
The cost for the two machines, including installation is $500,000.
