Construction of the historic Olde Sandwich Towne roundabout is set to finally be completed next week.
Crews are installing a bronze statue of Chief Tecumseh and General Brock — costing nearly $400,000.
In a tweet from Ward 2 councillor John Elliott, he says the roundabout is scheduled to officially open on September 7 at 11am.

The traffic circle is located where Riverside Dr. meets University Ave. and Rosedale Ave. Construction cost $850,000.
Residents in the area wanted to see the bronze sculpture in nearby Patterson Park where it could be more easily viewed. However, council felt the statue placed in the roundabout would create an appealing gateway to the historic community.
The roundabout had a delayed opening in November 2017 after First Nation artifacts were found as part of the build.
