Jason Spezza scored on two power plays to help the Stars beat the Red Wings 4-2 in Detroit.
Spezza had been benched the day before by head coach Ken Hitchcock.
Radek Faksa and Martin Hanzal had the other Dallas goals.
The Stars have won the first two games of a four-game trip and are 4-and-1 in their past five games.
Andreas Athanasiou had a goal and an assist for the Red Wings.
Trevor Daley had the other Detroit goal just 44 seconds after the puck dropped. The Red Wings lost for the third time in four games.
