Two month battle for Stanley Cup opens with five games on Wednesday night
The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs begin Wednesday night with five first-round games.
In the Eastern Conference, the Blue Jackets visit the Lightning in Tampa, while the Penguins play the Islanders in Uniondale.
In the West, the Blues visit the Jets, the Stars play the Predators in Nashville, and the Golden Knights go up against the Sharks in San Jose.
Three more first-round games are on tap Thursday, including the defending Stanley Cup champion Capitals at home against Carolina.
The Maple Leafs open against the Bruins tomorrow night in Boston.
The first round NHL series are all best-of-seven matchups.
