It's been a bit of a marathon this St. Patrick's Day for at least one pub in downtown Windsor.
This year the renowned drinking holiday fell on a Sunday, pulling Saturday night into the mix. Staff at the Manchester Pub on Ouellette Ave. near Wyandotte St. arrived to a full-house Sunday morning after a busy night.
"The people were waiting to come in so we let them in a little early to get them seated, the music started at 11am, we had Tartan Army to start today and it was wonderful," says General Manager Dave Greenwood.
It's been a long couple days, but it comes with the territory when you're running a pub on St. Patrick's Day, according to Greenwood.
"That's all part of the atmosphere on St. Patrick's Day. Everyone just has a great time singing, laughing, the staff all works together, everyone, it's like an all hands on deck kind of thing and we just pull it off," says Greenwood.
He tells AM800 News a lot of party goers took advantage of the weekend celebration, "to go out on Saturday night instead of Sunday, just because they would be able to sleep their hangovers off."
