The Windsor Spitfires jumped out to a big lead with 6 goals in the first period Sunday afternoon against the Flint Firebirds.
Luke Kutkevicius scored just five minutes into the first to open the scoring. Cody Morgan added two goals in a 7-0 rout of the Flint Firebirds on Mickey Renaud Night. Michael DiPietro made 20 saves for his 6th shoutout of the season.
The Spitfiires showed a tribute video before the game in honour of their former captain Mickey Renaud who passed away ten years ago.
Windsor will look for another win tomorrow as they head up the 401 to London for another afternoon game against the London Knights. Pre game on AM800 is at 1:45pm, puck drop at 2pm.
Spitfires sit just 3 points out of 7th in the Western Conference heading into Monday's game.
