The Windsor Spitfires have signed their 10th round pick from this year.
Goalie Brock Baier has been playing Jr. B in Listowel.
The 17-year-old netminder is from Stratford. He was selected 182nd overall by the Spits in the OHL draft.
"I was passed over in 2015, so I think maybe I'm coming in under the radar a little," says Baier. "I was fortunate that Windsor became my go-to team. The fact they believe in me and trust me me means everything. I believe good work habits lead to good things on and off the ice. I take pride in myself and in what I do. That's what people can expect from me going forward."
Spitfires General Manager Warren Rychel says he continues to like what he sees from Baier.
"He has made great strides in the last year," says Rychel. "Brock is big (6'4", 210 lbs) and is a hard worker. He had a lot of NCAA options, but chose to come to Windsor. We're happy he's going to be part of the organization."
Baier has a 14-4-1-3 record with Listowel this season and leads the league in goals against average (1.74) and save percentage (.945).
