The Spitfires open the regular season tonight at the WFCU Centre against the Guelph Storm.
Head coach Trevor Letowski says rookie goalie Kari Piiroinen has had to make several adjustments since arriving.
"It's hard anytime you come from Europe to here there's adjustments to be made. On the ice, just playing on the big ice surface it's different for goaltenders, as far as the angles and all that, so I know there's going to be a learning curve there for sure."
Letowski tells AM800 sports everyone's excited prior to the season starting.
It's the time of year, of course there's excitement and you're a little anxious just to get going and you never really know what your team's going to look like until it starts for real. We're really excited about our group."
AM800 has tonight's game starting with the pregame show at 6:30pm.
The Spits will also face the Knights Friday night in London.
