The Windsor Spitfires threw a lot of rubber at net, but the Sarnia Sting came out with the 4-2 win.
The Spits outshot the Sting 43-27.
Aaron Luchuk opened the scoring in the game with Hayden McCool scoring the other Sptifire goal to see the teams tied 2-2 heading into the second period.
The Sting would score twice in the second period and hold the hard charging Sptifires off the scoreboard in the third period to seal the win. The Spits threw 18 shots on net in the final period, but couldn't get one by Justin Fazio in the Sarnia net who made 41 saves.
The win sees the Sting clinch a playoff spot.
Windsor-native Anthony Salinitri scored the eventual game-winner.
The Spitfires have two more games, including one more home game at the WFCU Centre on Thursday against the Owen Sound Attack. Puck-drop is set for 7:05pm.
AM800's broadcast of the game begins at 6:30pm.
