The Windsor Spitfires have added some experience on the blue line.
Defenceman Zach Shankar has been acquired from the Niagara IceDogs for Windsor's 7th round pick in 2019.
The 20-year-old played 189 games with North Bay and Niagara over four seasons, along with 11 playoff games.
Spits GM Warren Rychel says Shankar is a character kid who has demonstrated the ability to lead and guide younger players.
He is set to arrive in Windsor in time to make the eastern Ontario trip with the team on Wednesday.
