A good start to a weekend road trip for the Windsor Spitfires who were able to slip past the Flint Firebirds 2-1 Saturday.
Aaron Luchuk had a goal and an assist for the Spitfires.
Christiano Digiacento made his return to the line up after a suspension and netted a goal as well.
The Spits are right back at it Sunday afternoon as they play the Saginaw Spirit at Joe Louis Arena as part of the Red Wings' farewell season.
Windsor Defenseman Jalen Chatfield is from Michigan and grew up watching the Red Wings play at the Joe.
He says it has been a dream of his to play a professional hockey game at the arena.
"The place is legendary and getting the chance to play there is going to be great."
He says it is going to be a memorable game.
"It will be memorable for me, to get a chance to play at the Joe is something I am really looking forward to."
Sunday's pre-game show gets underway on AM800 at 3:45pm with puck drop at 4pm.
