The Windsor Spitfires' top pick from this year's OHL Draft is looking forward to hitting the ice.
The training camp on-ice sessions get underway Tuesday morning and Jean-Luc Foudy says he'll be looking to pick the brains of some of the veterans on the roster.
The Spits selected Foudy with the 10th overall pick in this year's OHL Draft. He comes from a family of high level competitors as his older brother Liam plays for the London Knights.
The 5'10 centre says he's used this summer to work all aspects of his game. "Speed, transitional forward, play-making. Everything has gone well so far this summer," says Foudy. "I put on some weight, did some things Warren Rychel wanted we to get done and just worked on my overall game."
Foudy, who's from the Toronto area, says he's ready to learn.
"I just hope to have a good year overall. Just take in some advice from some of the older guys. It's a learning experience. It's the first time ever going to an OHL main camp. So it was kind of exciting to walk in and see some of the boys. I just want to get started. A little bit of nerves going, but a lot of excitement though. It just feels good," he says.
Fans are welcome to attend on-ice sessions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the WFCU Centre.
The camp leads up to the 2nd annual OHL Showcase which takes place Friday in Buffalo.
