Windsor Spitfires head coach Trevor Letowski is expecting offence to be a challenge during the upcoming OHL regular season.
With training camp is underway at the WFCU Centre, Letowski says the defence looks good on paper, but he's not sure who will be scoring goals for the team this year.
Letowski says he and the coaching staff will be watching to see who progressed the best this off-season.
"We want to get them on the ice as much as we possibly can, for the most part it's scrimmages," says Letowski. "We have some tough decisions to make."
He also expects the style of play will be more complex this season. "We've always taken pride in being a structured team, but we're going to definitely try to play more aggressive," says Letowski. "We tried to play fast last year but we have some ideas on how we could play faster. Just basically pressure pucks all over the ice and if we do that we'll have the puck more."
Veteran players are also expected to be key for the upcoming season.
"I'm looking for our veteran players to really push and be great players this year," says Letowski. "That's really important to me, that our 19-year-old's and our few 20-year-old's really lead the way with the way we want to play. That's what I'll be looking for that as much as I will the young players."
On-ice sessions continue Wednesday and Thursday at the WFCU Centre.
