Power play and penalty kill.
Those are 2 pieces of the Windsor Spitfires game Head Coach Trevor Letowski want to see working better this weekend.
He admits losing 3 in a row last weekend was tough, but they have to take lessons from that.
Letowski says they need to improve on making the most of opportunities.
"Sspecial teams has definitely taken a hit over the last little while here, to me our power play has been OK," says Letowski "We've gotten good looks and sometimes you just get hot and everything's going in and sometimes it's not as bad as you think and I think that's the case with our power play right now"
Letowski says keeping the other team off the scoreboard when they're shorthanded is important.
"We haven't gotten timely kills, earlier in the year we just seemed like if they got a power play we were just going to kill it and we just get through the game and usually we were on the right side of special teams and it wins you games." Letowski says "Right now it seems like we're on the wrong end of it"
Windsor hosts the Kingston Frontenacs at the WFCU Centre tonight in a rare Friday nighter.
AM800's broadcast starts with the pre-game at 6:30pm.
