Windsor will return to the WFCU Centre from a two-day road-swing winless after losing to the Otters in Erie Sunday.
Scoring got off to an odd start when the puck slid off the stick of Windsor's Jean-Luc Foudy into the empty-net and on a delayed-penalty call early in the first. Will Cuylle would get it back for the Spitfires in the final minutes of the period to head into the second tied 1-1.
Joseph Mack put Erie up early to start the frame before Windsor struck on the power-play to make it 2-2 on Luke Kutkevicius's fourth goal of the year.
Kyle McDonald would give Windsor its first lead of the game mid-way through the third but it was short-lived after Danial Singer tied it up for the Otters on the power-play just minutes later.
It would take a shoot out to find a winner Sunday. Singer kept the momentum going for Erie, putting one past Windsor goalie Michael DiPietro after Jordan Frasca couldn't solve Daniel Murphy.
Spitfire Daniel D'Amico and Erie's Kyle Maksimovich would both miss in the next round before Cody Morgan buried one past Murphy to even things up.
Gera Poddubnyi would finally give Erie a 4-3 shoot-out win after Otter Maxim Golod and Windsor's Will Cuylle both missed.
Windsor returns to the WFCU Centre Thursday to host the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds - puck drops at 7:05pm.
Tune into AM800 for all the action.
