The Windsor Spitfires squandered a 2-0 lead to lose to the Niagara IceDogs 4-3 in the shootout.
Pavel Demin had the shootout winner for the IceDogs.
Spitfires defenceman Mikhail Sergachev forced overtime when he scored at 18:01 in the third period. Cristiano DiGiacinto and Aaron Luchuck scored the game's first two goals before the IceDogs stormed back with three en route to a shootout win.
Mario Culin made 26 saves in the loss.
The Spitfire next play December 28 against the Sagniaw Spirit at the Dow Event Centre.
