When Gabe Vilardi scored his third goal of the game with 5:18 to play in the third period it gave the Windsor Spitfires a 5-2 lead over OHL West Division rival Sarnia.
But the Sting scored three times in a span of 3:29 to force overtime.
Kevin Spinozzi had a hat trick for Sarnia, including the equalizer with 1:18 left in regulation.
Drake Rymsha completed the dramatic comeback with a breakaway goal in overtime, giving Sarnia 6-5 win.
Julius Nattinen had a goal and two assists for the Spitfires and Aaron Luchuk added a goal.
The Spitfires are back in action Sunday afternoon against Saginaw at the WFCU Centre.
