The Spitfires have hired Frank Evola as the club's director of Scouting and Hockey Operations.
Evola is a Windsor native who spent nine seasons as head scout with the Oshawa Generals, where he played a key role in helping the club win the 2015 Memorial Cup.
"It's bittersweet leaving a great franchise like the Oshawa Generals," says Evola. "But the chance to come home and to work with Warren (Rychel) and Bob (Boughner), guys I truly respect, is a great opportunity."
Evola says he grew up with Spitfires hockey, sitting in Section 9 at Windsor Arena.
Evola, 44, will oversee the scouting department and will assist with player transactions.
"We're happy to add an excellent hockey mind like Frank to our staff," says General Manager Warren Rychel. "He has a wealth of experience and a real eye for spotting young talent and building winning teams."
