Petrus Palmu scored a power play goal 37 seconds into overtime to lift the Owen Sound Attack over the Windsor Spitfires 3-2 before 4,404 at the WFCU Centre Thursday night.
Mike Baird and Aaron Luchuk scored for the Spitfires, who were out shot by the Attack 34-23.
Montreal Canadiens draft pick Michael McNiven made 21 saves to pick up the win for Owen Sound, while Amherstburg's Michael DiPietro stopped 31 shots.
With a point for the overtime loss, the Spitfires move into first-place in the OHL West Division, one point ahead of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
Windsor is home to Sarnia Friday night.
